Before his disappearance, he was actively working in his large mansion on a device allowing access to alternate dimensions.

Armed only with a knife, his brother decides to look for him and ultimately unveil the mystery behind the incident.

Something obviously went terribly wrong with Dr.

Chaos's experiment, and the goal of the game is to locate all the eleven dimensional warp-zones hidden within the mansion, as well as assembling a powerful laser gun, the only weapon capable of taking down the last boss.

Was also released in America for the Nintendo Entertainment System but lacks the saving abilities of the Famicom Disk System version.

About Famicom Disk System

Japan-only, the Famicom Disk System (1986) was Nintendo's floppy-disk-based add-on for the Famicom, hosting several games (including the original Legend of Zelda and Metroid) before they were later ported to cartridge internationally. Because it never released outside Japan and its proprietary floppy disks degrade over time, complete, working Famicom Disk System software is a specialized import-collecting niche.

Gamevaro tracks Dr. Chaos: Jigoku no Tobira for Famicom Disk System with separate market values for loose, complete-in-box (CIB) and factory-sealed copies, sourced from real eBay sales. Prices also vary by region — PAL, NTSC-U and NTSC-J releases of the same game often sell for different amounts due to print run sizes and regional collector demand.

Rarity & condition

Only a handful of market sales have been tracked for Dr. Chaos: Jigoku no Tobira, suggesting it doesn't trade hands very often — a sign of relative scarcity compared to more common Famicom Disk System titles.

Complete-in-box (CIB) copies typically command a premium over loose cartridges/discs because the original box and manual are more fragile and get discarded or damaged over time — fewer complete sets survive.
